Hyperbaric Collapse Testing

Hyperbaric collapse testing is in effect the opposite of Burst testing, where pressure is applied from the outside, until the product is crushed or collapses.

The test is often performed as a pre-production test and then periodically, to push a product to its breaking point; ensuring safety, quality, durability.

Determining the difference between the maximum working pressure and the pressure, at which it collapsed is used to verify product reliability, suitability and that it is fit for purpose.

Hyperbaric collapse testing is a vital test for parts and products, that will be placed in applications, where they need to be able to withstand extremely high levels of high pressure.
