Our notified body Zurich Engineering–UK carried out some more inspections on a visit to our KW Pressure Testing facility recently. A series of 1034 bar (15,000 psi) high pressure vessel assemblies were hydro tested.
The pressure vessels have been manufactured and built for long-term fatigue life cycles for use in customer-specific hydrogen pipeline systems. The chambers were tested in one of our safety enclosed test cells by our experienced test engineers.
Designed by our KW Designed Solutions engineers for a repeat customer, a leader in automotive safety systems involved with researching, developing and manufacturing products for all the major automotive manufacturers around the world.
Both ends of the high pressure chambers are equipped with a traditional threaded closure, along with customer-specific ports and penetrations for interfacing. The chambers will operate at ambient temperature with a mixture of hydrogen, argon and helium gases.
The pressure vessels will be subjected to oxygen cleaning for their intended service in oxygen-enriched environments and despatched to their Europe based production facility.
Our engineers design and produce complex high pressure testing systems and HPHT autoclaves, along with high pressure chambers for use as buffer chambers and accumulators for a variety of applications, sectors and industries.
