Specialised Depressurisation System

A project is well underway for the development of a specialised package depressurisation system.

The safely controlled system will comprise of a horizontally orientated pressure vessel situated inside a ventilated containment box that will allow for various sized components to be inserted, securely clamped, drilled and depressurised. The fluid control system then safely releases the trapped gasses (including a mixture of pressurised nitrogen and hydrogen) at a controlled rate.

It’s imperative the system controls the rate at which the gases are released from the product. The pressure vessel will accommodate specially designed tooling to safely pierce the products.

The project proceeded in stages with weekly progress meetings, beginning with provisional feasibility and conceptual design studies. The fully approved detailed design meets all the relevant customer specifications, international directives and standards and will conclude with the manufacture of the final system with full installation and commissioning.

The depressurisation system, vessel and piercing tooling will be proof tested in our KW Pressure Testing facility, where the system will be subjected to testing that simulates all the viable operating conditions plus a variety of fault scenarios to ensure the product lives up to rigorous use over its full design life.
