2780 bar Hydrostatic Pressure Testing

Recently within our KW Pressure Testing multifunctional test pit, a manufactured bespoke piece of stainless welded tubing was subjected to very high hydrostatic pressures.

The test piece was placed below ground and connected to our high pressure control systems with lighting and cameras ready for recording. The pit was fully enclosed with blast-proof closures in place.

The welded tubing, rated to 20,000 psi (1379 bar) had highly pressurised water introduced and then held for a specific length of time.

Our test engineers then increased the controlled pressures to way above the rated pressure, up to 40,000 psi (2780 bar) then held again for a set period of time.

The test piece was produced by Orbital Fabrications, specialist manufacturers of high-tech gas and fluid handling systems and third party witnessed in our test facility by experts in producing, storing and delivering green hydrogen.

Our test engineers provide a full test documentation pack, which includes a test certificate, test engineer’s report and test chart data.
