A series of various high pressure fluid system assemblies were recently gas tested to almost 500 bar (7,252 psi) and 700 bar (10,153 psi) in our KW Pressure Testing facility.

The assemblies have been designed by highly experienced industry experts – specialists in developing innovative technologies to be able to refuel, store and distribute hydrogen conveniently and economically. The company is well-underway in enabling the rapid, low-cost deployment of the support infrastructure needed to accelerate the adoption of hydrogen powered vehicles.

The designs have been meticulously built and assembled into high pressure systems by Orbital Fabrications, a leading manufacturer of gas and fluid handling systems with a long history of working in custom-designed fabrications.

Our test engineers created specific tooling to subject the assemblies to a mixture of high pressure nitrogen and helium, involving cyclic testing along with specific pressure holds over set extended periods of time. Tests were conducted in safely enclosed test cells to evaluate the component parts to be able to identify any potential leaks due to the interchange of fittings and fabricated subassemblies.

The manufacturer also had their expert third-party notified body here with us at our pressure testing facility to carry out the necessary inspections that provide essential documentation, ensuring the pressure systems are safe and compliant with current relevant legislation.

Our test engineers provide a full documentation pack including a test certificate, test engineer’s report, test chart data and video recordings of the tests for our valued customer.

Our pressure testing facility and team of experienced test engineers are available to help and assist with qualification testing, ensuring equipment is compliant with customer and relevant industry standards.
